MINUTE entry before the Honorable Lisa A. Jensen as to Kyle Peterson (1): Initial appearance on affidavit of warrant in removal proceedings held on 5/3/2022. Defendant Kyle Peterson appears in-person on an arrest warrant issued from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. A representative from Pretrial Services is present. CJA panel attorney John Nelson appears for Defendant and is provisionally appointed as counsel pending filing and review of a financial affidavit. A financial affidavit shall be filed by 5/10/2022. Defense counsel confirms receipt of the charging document and discussed it with Defendant. Defendant was informed of his rights. Defendant is not seeking a preliminary hearing in this District. The Defendant is not seeking an identity hearing and does not contest that he is the person named in the charging documents. Government seeks detention pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 3142(f)(1)(e). Defense counsel's oral motion for additional time to confer with Defendant to determine whether Defendant will request a detention hearing in this district is unopposed and granted. Pursuant to the parties' agreement, a telephonic status hearing is set for 5/4/2022 at 9:00 AM. Defendant, counsel for both sides, and a representative from Pretrial Services are directed to appear.
