Endorsed Order - not on motion
Tue 08/12 10:57 AM
ENDORSED ORDER. Text of Order: On today's date, the court held a status conference via video in this case. Attorneys SangYeob Kim, Gilles Bissonnette, Chelsea Eddy, and Kristen Connors appeared for the petitioner. Attorney Kasey Weiland appeared for the respondent. The parties represented that they had agreed upon a briefing schedule with respect to the 2241 petition that would give the respondent at least three weeks to respond to the petition. The court was prepared to expedite briefing in anticipation of issuing a ruling by the end of the week, and expressed concern over so lengthy a briefing schedule where petitioner's entitlement to a bond hearing appears plain. See Benitez v. Francis, No. 25 Civ. 5937 (DEH), 2025 WL 2267803 (S.D.N.Y. Aug. 8, 2025); Martinez v. Hyde, --- F. Supp. 3d ----, 2025 WL 2084238 (D. Mass. July 24, 2025); Gomes v. Hyde, No. 1:25-cv-11571-JEK, 2025 WL 1869299 (D. Mass. July 7, 2025); Rodriguez v. Bostock, --- F. Supp. 3d ----, 2025 WL 1193850 (W.D. Wash. Apr. 24, 2025); Duchi-Naula v. Tatum, Civ. No. 25-cv-247-LM-AJ (D.N.H. July 7, 2025) (oral ruling; transcript located at doc. no. 18). The parties shall file their proposed briefing schedule no later than 10:00 a.m. on August 13, 2025. So Ordered by Chief Judge Landya B. McCafferty.(de) |
