Smith that he must complete and file a verified petition and designation of local counsel pursuant to Local Rule IA 11-2 by February 3, 2026. ECF No. 3. On that date, counsel filed a "declaration" and "request" for an extension of time to comply. ECF No. 5 . Although counsel's requested relief is not properly filed as a motion, the court presumes this was done to avoid violating Local Rule IA 11-2(c) ("An attorney whose verified petition is pending must not take action in this case beyond filing the first pleading or motion."). Nonetheless, I find good cause exists to grant the request; therefore, the deadline for Gregory M. Smith to file a verified petition and designation of local counsel is extended to February 27, 2026.
